I think people should read national and world wide news, because it allows them to understand what is happening not only locally wide but world as well. There are many current events that happen on a daily basis, whether it is political, cultural, or another source of media. I think that people should be more intertwined with national news more than world, even though, world news is important national news affects them more. By what government officials decided to a major national disaster, or even a crime that happened. Yes world wide news is important especially if a war hits or a major disaster however, national affects more people and having people be aware of the news is important.
the three most important news stories that I found were all on New York Times. One was about El Chapo and how he was found Guilty on all charges. The reason I thought this was the most important was because he has been a major crime lord since the 80s and escaped prison once. El Chapo has been not only a big source of drug related crimes in Mexico but in the United States as well and him being found guilty is a big deal. Another story I read was about the deal with Trump and Congress involving the boarder wall. The reason I thought it was important was because one Trump might not sign the agreement on more boarder patrol and it is history in the making. The U.S.-Mexico boarder has been an issue since the treaty between these two countries were made and know the current president is trying to make the boarder harder for illegal aliens to cross over. Finally, the last article I read was about California and that there is a new open records law that is being created. This law is making is so that Police have to open records to the public just in case a police shooting occurs. This is news because this law could occur in other states and effect police forces and the public as well.

this article is about the wildlife that lives in Montana and how they aren't a threat to the people who live in Montana and that there needs to be awareness that these animals live here too. The article that I found was about how American people are loosing faith not only in the government but also the economy because of the shutdown. This is proximal to because I do live in the United States and I do work which means I am apart of the economy. It is prominence because President Donald Trump ordered the shut down of the government and the Senate is apart of it as well. This article is timeliness because it is still going on. Finally the consequences are that the government is paused and no major decisions that are getting solved and it is causing issues for the citizens of the country.
If I was a reporter for the National Geographic magazine. I would write one story about the different cultures throughout South America. I would write this story because I have always been fascinated with what types of cultures are around the world and South America has one of the more diverse cultures in the world. Another story I would write about is probably the poverty in the Africa. I'd write about this because everyone knows that it is a problem but they don't know how big of a problem it really is. One person I would like to interview is a Syrian refugee because I am fascinated with how they got out of their country and the news that is still sparking up with the refugee crisis covers everything but how these people actually feel.Three new events that have happened in news lately.
